Spiritually, our heart is our essence, our core, our true self where our wisdom of feeling emanates.(Rather than our wisdom of reason which comes from our brain). It represents a purity and truth which is unique to each one of us.
 
Winged: freedom, independence & inspiration
 
The winged heart necklace is inspired by an incredible lady called Jackie Moggridge. Born in South Africa, she was the first woman to do a solo parachute jump at the age of 17. Jackie came to the UK aged 18 to learn to become a pilot. Then the war broke out. She flew planes for the ATA in WW2, smuggled Spitfires into Burma in the 1950's, was one of only 5 women to receive full RAF wings in 1953 & became the first female passenger airline pilot in the UK - all whilst raising her family. She defied expectations & challenged societal norms for women. She also wrote poetry:

My wings rise high
To join the race
Of scudding clouds across the blue

That's filled with heavenly peace and grace.
